In 1972, Wolfgang Kiessling established Loro Parque in Puerto de la Cruz, a space that he started as an exotic bird reserve and which gradually grew to become the world’s largest reserve of species and subspecies of parrots. It is currently the best Zoo in the world. Almost five decades later, Loro Parque Foundation was born, an organisation with more than 25 million dollars invested in conservation, education and research projects on an international level.
